A survey was conducted with support from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and conservationists is showing a jump in Royal Bengal Tiger numbers, boosted by ecosystem restoration and conservation measures with communities.

As, the Secretary-General meets with 35 Member States, as well as the European Union today to discuss the Relief and Works Agency, UNRWA, following serious allegations of collusion with Hamas. While the Secretary General will share actions being taken to deal with the allegation and will listen to Member States' concerns, he will again underscore the importance of the humanitarian work that UNRWA does every day in Gaza and in the region.  A full and urgent investigation is underway and some of the staff allegedly involved have been dismissed by the agency.

As the most populous country in North Africa, with a young work force and a fast-growing economy, Egypt holds immense potential to achieve long-term, sustainable economic development. our UN team in Egypt have joined hands with the Government, led by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, to develop the country’s first Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF).  This landmark initiative, supported financially by the UN Joint SDG Fund, is designed to strengthen planning processes and help overcome obstacles to financing sustainable development in Egypt.
