UNSDG Efficiency Roadmap 2025-2028
The UNSDG Efficiency Roadmap 2025–2028 builds on the results of the 2022–2024 cycle, which generated $553.6 million in efficiency gains in 2023, and sets new targets across Business Operations Strategies, Common Premises, Common Back Offices, Global Shared Services, and key enablers such as Mutual Recognition and Costing and Pricing principles.
The roadmap prioritizes scaling high-impact common services, completing additional common premises projects, expanding from 4 to 20 Common Back Offices, and strengthening Global Shared Services with at least 10 prioritized services and 130 new global agreements, while leveraging digital innovation and service consolidation.
It also emphasizes deeper entity ownership of BOS, improved accountability frameworks, enhanced reporting through the UNINFO platform, and stronger governance linkages with the High-Level Committee on Management.
By 2028, the UN system aims to achieve $554 million in annual efficiency gains, driven by streamlined operations, strengthened interagency cooperation, and improved service utilization at global and local levels.
