UNSDG Efficiency Roadmap 2022-2024
The UNSDG Efficiency Roadmap 2022–2024 outlines the UN’s plan to achieve up to US$310 million in annual savings by streamlining operations across the system.
This is done through expanded Global Shared Services, rollout of Local Shared Service Centers in the 50 largest non‑crisis countries, implementation of Business Operations Strategies that standardize high‑impact services such as renewable energy and procurement innovations, and targeted consolidation of Common Premises in 66 high‑cost locations.
This roadmap has been informed by lessons learned and delays from the COVID‑19 pandemic and emphasizes simplified targets, stronger executive‑level engagement, improved data quality, staff welfare considerations, and system‑wide adoption of Mutual Recognition to enable shared services, supported by a new UN Efficiency Dashboard to monitor progress and ensure savings are reinvested into development activities.
