Gender equality is one of the priority issues addressed by the United Nations in Cuba, and, along with its national counterparts, efforts are paying off.
Tackling violence against women is crucial to realizing the Sustainable Development Goals. In January, the United Nations is launching the Decade of Action to support the meeting of those goals by 2030.
To mark the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence, UNFPA, UNDP and UN Women joined shared a message of solidarity. Through their efforts, the Spotlight Initiative, engaged youth worldwide as they created artwork to advocate for the safety and security of women and girls.
